Draft Integrated Transport Plan (ITP) (2024)

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council (PMHC) and Transport for NSW (TfNSW) have a joint responsibility to manage and provide a sustainable, connected, and equitable transport network for our region.

Because of this joint responsibility, PMHC and TfNSW have co-developed the draft Port Macquarie-Hastings Integrated Transport Plan (ITP). This plan is intended to guide future funding for projects that will target addressing current needs, as well as meeting future needs of the area.

The draft ITP outlines the commitment made by PMHC and TfNSW to improve the transport networks in our local government area based on our community's needs and changing expectations. The draft ITP focuses on increasing connectivity within the Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA, improving and reducing congestion, and providing a multi-modal transport network that integrates active, public and road-based transport systems to be seamless, convenient, and sustainable for all users.

At the June Ordinary Council Meeting, Council resolved to:

1. Note the information in this report regarding the process of developing the draft Integrated Transport Plan.
2. Note that through the partnership approach with Transport for NSW to develop the draft Integrated Transport Plan, the document has received Ministerial approval from the NSW Government for co-branding.
3. Endorse the co-branded draft Integrated Transport Plan to be placed on public exhibition for a period of not less than 28 days.
4. Note that a further report will be provided to Council at the August Meeting outlining the submissions received during the exhibition period.
