Position SummaryThe department of Chemistry at D’Youville is looking for qualified candidates to add to a pool of adjunct instructors to potentially teach lectures and labs such as general chemistry, organic chemistry and GOB courses. The department is accepting applications for positions to be filled as needed. Our department of chemistry houses an ACS approved chemistry B.S. degree along with chemistry B.A and biochemistry B.S. degrees. The department includes 8 faculty members along with a laboratory coordinator.
Qualifications
Masters degree or higher in chemistry or related field from an accredited college or university
Previous experience with teaching in higher education is preferred
Ability to utilize various software programs including the institution’s Learning Management System (Canvas) related to the delivery of online course content
Responsibilities
Teach assigned course in accordance with its established learning outcomes.
Develop and implement course assignments and deliver learning activities that permit measurement of course student learning outcomes.
Foster an inclusive and collaborative course environment
Report progress updates and final grades for students.
Provide access to and timely response to students via in-person (e.g., office hours), videoconference, or telephone.
Uphold the mission and vision of D’Youville.
